Thought I'd hit you up with a sit rep on whats been going on back here.

So recently whats been happening is that I've graduated... YaY!. Go Me !. Was like almost 2 weeks ago now as it was the 1st of July but I never updated here with it. The ceremony dragged on a bit and the weather wasn't that good but I got my diploma and went out for a drink with some of my fellow graduates afterwards. Ended up in an Australian themed bar called Walkabout in Glasgow. They have Kangaroo burgers. Thats all I'm going to say about it as the place is awesome.

Since then I haven't really been up to much. I've applied for a job working in Borders bookshop, just to get myself some cash money really, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I've been mostly working on some 3D projects to put into my portfolio during my spare time. I'm working on a Billiard Hall scene, which is coming along nicely as well as sitting right now trying to render out an updated Bar scene which I worked on for a class in university.

So look for lots of updates with pictures of the scenes coming up on my profile soon.

Holidays + Results are IN !

Thats me just got back from a nice week away down south, staying in a *caravan park (*read trailer park for North America) in a small seaside town called Whitley Bay just outside Newcastle, England.

Went down there with my folks, my bro and Hazel aka =PrincessNut from here. She's put up a lot of pictures of the holiday. We got some lovely sunshine for our trip and got a lot of shopping in at the Metro Center.

The Metro Center is HUGE... like it used to be the biggest shopping mall in Europe. It even, up until recently as its being renovated now, had a theme park with a roller-coaster inside it. Me and Hazo must have walked around it like 3 times during our day trip there.

We all played mini-golf down on the sea front one day as well... Hazo almost decapitated my Dad with a stray shot that would have got him right on the temple had he not ducked in time.

Glad to be home though.

Got home and found my University results laying on the doormat. I got a Second Class Lower Division Honors degree (thats a 2-2 in simple terms). I'm pleased I managed to graduate but I think I probably could have done a little better and got a better average.

Still it means that I get to graduate on the 1st of July (Canada Day!).

Just watching the TV... watching my beloved Holland team (I'm supporting them because Scotland didn't make it to Euro 2008) getting completely stuffed by the Russians... now 3-1 with like no time left in extra-time/over-time... Totally Gutted. I'm sitting here in my bright orange Holland top with a really sad face. =(

For some reason though DA won't let me change my mood though... could be because I've upgraded to Firefox 3.

End of Year Show - June 9th 2008

Hey folks,

Just thought I'd post up a little journal entry here to tell you all something awesome. My 3D animation work I did with the snooker table in it will be on show on June 9th in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in the center of Glasgow. They are holding the Paisley University End of Year Show there that day so I'll be going a long to see my work there and a bunch of other peoples from my year.

I'm really looking forward to it as I've been to one before back when I was just about to go to university. They had some huge screens there and stuff with the work on show so it was pretty neat. We all get a huge poster too above a computer with our work on it... How awesome is that ?.

Can you tell I'm excited lol.

As an aside here... I went Ten-Pin Bowling tonight, got about a dozen strikes, 3 in a row at one point !... I'll be paying for it in the morning though as my back is starting to seize up already. Good times though.

Phew... what a relief that is...

Today at around 12... my computer gave birth to a wonderful bouncy CA4 (Computer Animation Year 4) project.

37 seconds of 3D gold... inspired by the BBC Snooker introduction on the goggle box.

So yeah it feels good to have that in a finalized state.

I'm not out of the woods yet however... as I still have the documentation to do to back it up... but I'd say I'm entering the final furlong, winning by a neck as i race towards the finishing post.

Yibida Yibida Folks...

Thought it was about time that I did a little Sit Rep.

I've been working my backside off recently doing university work and the shit has hit the fan... I've got 3 weeks in order to do my end of year project FROM SCRATCH.

So in scraps is how I'm coming along right now. I'm modelling a snooker/billiards table and going to do my own take on the BBC snooker intro.

Have to use maya's Dynamics and Physics to make the balls move around the table.

Hopefully I can get it done.

Andy.
